For those who could tear there eyes away from watching the sun set on the 19th floor of the building where Jonathan Saunders show was taking place, tonight’s show was a great success. Once again we see androgyny ruling the roost as even the dresses looked very masculine in form. Prints and bright colours popped everywhere but none that were overwhelming or offensive. Whereas most designers are dressing for the modern busy woman by jazzing up the classics and making them more elaborate and unique, Richard Nicholl took a step back this season and simplified everything to an extreme. In fact he was so extreme, he didn’t even put on a catwalk but rather displayed his work through a presentation. Fashion Foie Gras at Issa AW 2012/13
The first dress down the catwalk at Issa mimicked the invitation we had received only days earlier. This was a trans-siberian experience and the prints were taking us on a journey from the first to the last model. In fact the only relief found from the printed theme was with select knits, fur hats and knee high boots. As certain full length dresses made their way down the catwalk you could hear whispers of the name “Kate Middleton”. How could you not hear the name of Issa’s most famous follower...
